Amphitryon and Alcmene are a Crew Member in Disney Speedstorm. It is a Common Crew Member which means it amplifies two Racer statistics (Top-Speed, Handling) and enhances one skill (Shot). Amphitryon and Alcmene are part of the Hercules Collection.
Origin
Amphitryon and Alcmene are supporting characters in Disney's 1997 animated feature film, Hercules. They are a married couple who find Hercules outside their house after he has been kidnapped by Pain and Panic. They adopt the baby without knowing that it's the son of Zeus and Hera and raise him as their own, despite their initial horror at the infant's prowess.
Amphitryon and Alcmene heard Pain and Panic as they abducted the infant Hercules and prevented Hercules from drinking the entire potion, preserving his heavenly strength, while Pain and Panic fled to find a place to hide. Hercules is discovered by Amphitryon and Alcmene, who then scoops up the infant and lovingly tells him not to scream. After reading Hercules' name on his medal and seeing it bears the Gods' sign, Amphitryon and Alcmene assume the baby has been abandoned or that the Gods have finally granted their request for a child.
18 years later, when Hercules is a young adolescent, he and Amphitryon visit the city. Amphytryon commands Hercules to remain by the cart until they get in town, but Hercules decimates the entire community. The group is led by the potter Demetrius, who finally expresses his rage toward Hercules and Amphitryon over the ruin of his goods and the marketplace and irately commands Amphitryon to keep him away from there before hurling the final insult by referring to Hercules as a "freak." Amphitryon then advises Hercules not to pay attention to what people are saying, but Hercules feels like a freak and starts to wonder where he actually fits in.
Later that evening, Amphitryon and Alcmene make the decision to reveal the truth to Hercules about finding him long ago and to present him with the medal with his name and the godly emblems. While first taken aback by the information, Hercules resolves to visit the Temple of Zeus to learn where he belongs. But, before leaving, he expresses his gratitude to Amphitryon and Alcmene for being the best parents anybody (or he) could have.
The following day, Hercules bids Amphitryon and Alcmene farewell before setting off on his journey to discover his place in the world. Amphitryon and Alcmene may be seen purchasing Hercules souvenirs in the song "Zero to Hero" after Hercules becomes well-known for protecting the world from monsters and has a larger home. Finally, after saving Meg from Hades and choosing to remain on Earth with her, Hercules is reunited with Amphitryon and Alcmene. They joyfully watch as Hercules' biological father Zeus paints an image of him in the sky as a genuine Hero.
