Disney Speedstorm Wiki

Maui is a Disney Speedstorm Racer. He is classed as a Trickster and he is part of the Moana Collection.

Maui is a demigod and a friend of Moana. In Disney Speedstorm, Maui's racing suit is mostly original: it is a beige outfit, inspired by the color of his magical hook, with dark reddish-brown stripes on his shoulders and trousers. Unlike most other Speedstorm Racers, Maui does not wear shoes, which is based on his look from the original Disney film. His hairstyle and tattoos from the original story have been preserved in the game, and his ability to shapeshift into a bird is reflected in his Unique Skill.

Maui is the deuteragonist of Disney's animated film "Moana" (2016) and its 2024 sequel. A powerful and charismatic demigod from South Pacific legend, Maui was once beloved by humanity for his heroic deeds. However, his desire for praise led him to steal Te Fiti's heart, unintentionally unleashing darkness that threatens Moana's island and her people.

A thousand years later, Moana is chosen by the ocean to find Maui and return the heart. A storm leads her to Maui's island, where the demigod attempts to steal her boat but is eventually persuaded to accompany her on her journey. Together, they bravely escape the pirate-like Kakamora and travel to Lalotai to retrieve Maui's fishhook, confronting the giant crab Tamatoa. Though Maui regains his hook, he struggles to shapeshift, and Moana inspires him to overcome his doubts. Their bond strengthens as Maui teaches Moana to wayfind, and she helps him rediscover his self-worth. Despite setbacks and a damaged hook, Maui ultimately returns to save Moana against Te Kā, who ends up being Te Fiti herself and, grateful for restoring the peace, gifts Maui a new hook.

Base statistics[]

These are the regulated Racer statistics players receive on level 15 (low-level), then when they are mid-level (30/50) and then when they are high level (45/50). These numbers can be increased by leveling the character and adding Crew Members to the Racer profile. However, the current numbers do not account for any Crew Member enhancements.

Moana Crew Sticker Crew Members[]

Crew members are chips that amplify some of the Racer's stats. Players can choose up to 4 Crew Members (slots need to be unlocked with the character progression). All Crew Members are characters from the related Disney films. Maui currently has 8 Crew Members that players can choose from. Crew Members can be Common, Rare or Epic. Common Crew Members increase 2 of the Racer statistics and and strengthen 1 of their common Skills. Rare Crew Members have the ability to amplify 3 of the same statistics, give a skill bonus, and some of them also give extra Loot Point % bonus (needed for Mystery Boxes). Epic Crew Members are the most powerful as they boost all the Racer's statistics, let the Racer start the race with one of their common Skills, and also give a bonus to the Unique Skill of the Racer they are attached to (each Epic Crew Member is unique to one Racer).
